CD-ROM
Design:
Chase Information Systems, Inc. (CIS) began creating interactive CD-ROMs
in 2001, and has since been consistently perfecting this "art"
of multimedia publishing. Using the Lingo programming language CIS
has been able to develop leading edge CD-ROM products. In February
of 2003 CIS developed a marketing/video CD-ROM for the Real Estate
industry (see this product's main menu design below), as well as an
interactive training CD-ROM program template for various educational
purposes. Additionally, CIS has been developing an auto-updating and
database-accessing CD-ROM program for products such as interactive
catalogs and self-updating training materials (utilizing a web server
for the updates).
In January of 2004 the newly designed Quickfinder CD-ROM program was
completed and shipped to over 6,000 tax consultants throughout the
US. This CD-ROM Program was created by Chase Information Systems,
Inc. and included some highly advanced features such as displaying
PDF documents without using Acrobat Reader, as well as advanced and
sortable Note Taking and Bookmarking. This program allowed for over
20,000 pages of materials to be searched, down to and including three
(3) letter words (like "tax").
CIS has been busy negotiating contracts in four interactive CD-ROM
markets (click on a category to view more information):
- Catalog
CDs for selling products via self-updating CD-ROM which connects
to the web for real-time processing.
- Interactive
Training CDs for easily portable, highly effective multimedia
training programs.
- eBooks
on CD for placing printed materials onto a CD-ROM in an encrypted
and secure manner.
- Marketing
CDs for animated, entertaining, and informative displays of company
or product information.

Low-End
and Mid-End CD-ROMs:
Interactive CD-ROMs can be as simple as mounting an MS PowerPoint
Presentation onto a CDROM with a run-time executable (an .exe file).
These PowerPoint Presentation CDs have the ability to run on a PC
that does not have MS PowerPoint installed by running the PPT Projector
from the CD if necessary.
Another simplistic application for interactive CDROMs is to capture
a websites onto a CD. CIS recently captured the RTM
Electric, Inc. website and encapsulated it onto a CD-ROM. Thus
as soon as the CD is inserted into a computer, the website loads
from the CD-ROM, which enables clients without Internet access (or
with slow Internet access) the ability to view the website easily
and effectively.
A "middle-of-the-road" (mid-range) interactive CD-ROM
could incorporate Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files into a auto-starting
CD-ROM (using a Director Projector file). This sort of CD-ROM
is becoming more and more popular, but the drawback is that you
are limited by using only Acrobat Reader on the end-user's computer.
However, Acrobat is an effective medium to display printed materials
(even on a High-End CD-ROMs Adobe Acrobat is utilized for this purpose),
but by using only Acrobat you do not have the ability to display
full animations and/or to incorporate sophisticated audio or video
playback. An Adobe Acrobat CD-ROM is useful for Mid-End CD-ROM Design,
but is not the most effective method of CD-ROM Design.
High-End
CD-ROM Design:
On
the High-End of CD-ROM Design, a fully interactive digital
catalog could be placed onto a CD. This includes the capability
to link to the Internet to place an order, or to print an order
form, and/or to check for recent product updates via the Internet.
With thousands of products for sale, and possibly large digital
image files, your best bet may be a CD-ROM catalog (due to bandwidth
issues on the Internet - even when your clients have high-speed
connections). As well, customers with no Internet access (low-speed
Internet access, or other general "issues" with the Internet)
can easily access your digital CD-ROM catalog without using the
Internet. Adding an MS Access Database
or a v12 Database to the project adds the potential for a catalog
that is very easy for your company to update and maintain.

Another High-End use of CD-ROM technology that Chase Information
Systems, Inc. has been involved with is creating interactive
training CD-ROMs or conference or event CD-ROMs. Training materials
are collected (such as handouts, notes, diagrams - any printed materials)
and these are placed into a CD-ROM program developed by CIS, incorporating
audio and video as well. The end result is a high quality, training
medium that is engaging and educational. Adding animations, musical
introductions, and the like creates a product that can educate and
market at the some time. For instance, train a sales team on specific
product features, while also marketing the product to the end customer
on the same CD-ROM.
High-End CD-ROM Design can include placing large amounts of
virtually any training or marketing materials onto an interactive
CD-ROM. Audio, video, handouts, diagrams, charts, animations, even
databases can all be placed onto a CD-ROM. Note taking features,
diagram displays, or the printing of handout materials are all easily
accomplished via an interactive CD-ROM developed by CIS. Giving
your clients and sales reps menu-driven, highly informational, and
auto-updating CD-ROMs gives your company or association an edge
that is not only highly effective, but is also essential in today's
marketplace.
Create a marketing tool for selling real estate, or place
a training manual onto CD-ROM including animated tutorials,
or create an animated kiosk for a shopping mall. All of the
CD-ROM programs can be menu driven, which gives the end user the
control they desire, giving them the choice over what they desire
to see (and when).
Enhanced
DVD-ROM Design:
On
the High-End of multimedia Design, a fully interactive enhanced
DVD can be created. These DVDs play like a normal DVD in any
DVD player, yet when placed into a computer's DVD-ROM drive, watch
out! These enhanced DVDs can include various advanced features such
as note-taking, bookmarking, and advanced search capabilities when
used in a computer. DVDs can encompass multiple CD-ROMs due to their
larger storage capacity, and thus offer more bang for the buck.

The Main Menu for a Real Estate Mini CD-ROM...
Catalog CD-ROMs:
CIS
has been promoting the use of our high-end CD-ROM programming to
bring about a catalog CD-ROM for various clients. Imagine your company's
catalog of products and/or services contained in a digital format,
and placed onto a CD-ROM. Not only can we offer much more when using
this digital format, which adds to the overall value of your catalog
and provides you with a higher Return On your Investment (ROI),
but the costs are often less expensive as well. A catalog CD-ROM
can bring the costs per catalog down to just a few dollars each,
and shipping is often less expensive too.
The features available on an interactive multimedia catalog CD-ROM
can stifle the imagination. Imagine, for instance, a catalog that
automatically updates pricing, lists specific items as being on
sale from time to time, deletes discontinued items, alters product
information if incorrect information was given or if new information
has become available, even adds new items to the catalog off-the-cuff!
Just imagine how cost effective this would be. Imagine what an ROI
like this could do for your company!

Training / Educational CD-ROMs:
CIS
has created a number of Conference CD-ROMs for a variety of clientele,
including: Nursing Associations, Doctoral Associations, and Industrial
/ Business Conferences. In fact, a number of the Conference CD-ROMs
were actually accredited by the Associations CIS has served and
thus these CD-ROMs were able to be counted as "Contact Hours"
training for Nurses (after completing an exam on the CD).
Chase Information Systems, Inc. has aided various scholarly groups
by quoting Design prices which have been used in grant writing.
CIS is able to create highly advanced interactive multimedia CD-ROMs
which can include a plethora of features. Features such as: note
taking, bookmarking, sophisticated searching, audio, video, animations
(including our own 3D modeling and animations), written materials,
plus more. Enhanced CD-ROMs are an excellent means for disseminating
information and training, as it allows for print outs to be made
as well as on-line studying.
Research has proven that using a multimedia presentation greatly
increases the students ability to retain the information being presented.

Note Taking feature on the Quickfinder CD-ROM...
eBook CD-ROMs:
eBooks
have been around for years now. CIS is able to take your written
materials and place them onto a CD-ROM in such a manner as to protect
them (using 128-bit encryption). eBooks allow for advanced features
such as note taking and bookmarking, and if desired the user can
print out the materials - all at your discretion.
Marketing / Edu-tainment CD-ROMs:
To
create the highest level of Return on Investment (ROI), imagine
killing two big birds with one cost effective stone. CIS can enable
this by creating a CD-ROM which starts out as a marketing CD-ROM
with animations, music, and audio, which then transitions into a
menu system for digging deeper into further information. This is
the track that CIS has developed for some manufacturers. The fluffy
entertaining stuff at the beginning of the CD-ROM (which is bypassable)
is for the end customer, while the meaty documents and diagrams
which can be found via the menu system is for training their sales
team (as well as more interested potential customers).
Everything from Real Estate CD-ROMs to Manufacturer's CD-ROMs, from
Wholesale Distributor Catalog CD-ROMs to Company Profile CD-ROMs.
You know the reality of this issue already. Go to any tradeshow,
in any market, in any area of the country, and you will see a slew
of CD-ROMs. We can help you by creating the uniquely shaped CDs,
such as: Business Card CDs, custom shaped CDs (like a police badge
or a heart), mini CDs, etc. Or we can use a full sized CD-ROM in
a clamshell or cardboard case. We can also use the DVD format in
the same manner. All CDs and cases can be fully printed on in full
photo-realistic colors (4 or 5 color silk screen).

Macromedia Director and Shockwave Design:
CIS
utilizes Macromedia Design products
to create their interactive CD-ROMs. By combining artistic graphic
art elements and "lingo" programming structures Chase
Information Systems, Inc. has been developing some incredibly intuitive,
highly sophisticated, and aesthetically pleasing interactive CD-ROMs.
Adding Macromedia Flash, LiveMotion, Adobe Acrobat, Apple Quicktime,
Microsoft Media Player, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft
Excel, v12 Database, plus more, CIS programs an interactive CD that
has everything you can imagine included in meaningful and easy-to-use
manners.
Everything from interactive marketing brochures, to auto-updating
training materials, to text books, to interactive
conference CD-ROMs (including audio, video, and handout materials),
to product catalogs CDs that can be easily updated including
an auto-updating feature (to have your catalog CD capable of price
changes as well as offering product sales from time to time and
ending the sales when you decide to - without having to make new
CDs). Our security features include methods to keep your documents
completely secure by employing 128-bit encryption and other
security methods to make piracy virtually impossible.

Mini CD-ROM, Marketing CD-ROM, Educational CD-ROM...
Various
Sizes and Shapes:
CD-ROMs
and DVD-ROMs (CDs and DVDs) can come in a variety of sizes and shapes.
CIS offers all of the variety at very competitive prices. Imagine
having a Business Card CD, or a mini CD-ROM, or a mini DVD-ROM,
or a specially / custom shaped CD - such as in the shape of a heart
or in the shape of a cross or in the shape of your company's logo!
Imagine having these eye-catching and memorable marketing tools
when your make your next sales visit or attend your next trade show.
The best part is, on average, CD-ROMs can be less expensive than
having custom folders with high-gloss materials printed up. And
CD-ROMs are much better remembered than your competitor's folder
with printed materials in it, because multimedia offers so much
more - audio, video, animations, music, and moving text and graphics!
Kiosk Projects:
Distributing
information via an interactive Kiosk (non-manned information center)
is an old idea with the new twist being the visitor's ability to
interact with the Kiosk. Animated Kiosks with video portions, text
portions, Internet-like portions, etc. can add to the effectiveness
of a Kiosk. Adding the ability for user interaction to this full
multimedia production creates a leading edge Kiosk capable of efficiently
educating. CD-ROM Design is what drives these interactive or
full multimedia Kiosks. Just ask CIS about
this exciting possibility...
Just imagine having an interactive menu-driven system for viewing
not only what businesses are located in a shopping center, but also
gaining access to "info-mercials" about the stores. Being
able to print coupons for the stores the customer intends to visit,
watching entertaining and informative video presentations (or a
printed presentation with audio) could greatly increase revenue
for shopping malls. Or add an interactive kiosk to an office building
to do the same for the various services offered by the businesses
within the facility.
The
Leading Edge Method:
Distributing
digital information has never been easier: Adobe Acrobat files
(PDFs), audio and music files (MP3s and WAVs), video
(MPEGs, MOVs, RAMs, etc.), Internet-based files (HTML, Flash,
Shockwave, etc.), and just about everything else you can
think of. Chase Information Systems, Inc. can aid your company in
the creation of these media types from the existing documents that
you currently have, as well as creating the interactive
CD-ROM program. For instance placing your spreadsheets into
HTML tables, converting your Word documents into PDF files, or reducing
your WAV audio files into the MP3 format. These materials are then
placed into a CD-ROM program that CIS creates just for your company.
Chase Information Systems, Inc. utilizes every "inch"
of the CD-ROM to allow for the maximum use of a single CD. Up to
700 MB of data can be placed onto a single CD-ROM, which could include
hours of MP3 audio files and dozens of Acrobat handout or training
materials.
With the larger storage capacity of the new DVD-ROMs the potential
amount of data that can be placed onto this media is increasing
as we speak - to astronomical levels!
Talk about a "Return on Your Investment" (ROI), CD-ROMs
and DVD-ROMs offer probably the single most effective medium to
date!
CIS can aid you with whatever it is you
require...
